SMUD Updates Contractor Rebate Program Qualifications

News Flash: SMUD has updated its requirements for variable speed pool pump installation contractors:

SMUD Pool Pump Instant Rebate Program for Contractors

$250 instant rebate on an ENERGY STAR certified variable-speed pool pump for SMUD residential customers

Program requirements for contractors:

• Must have completed Certified Aquatic Energy Installation (CAEI) training through the Foundation for Pool & Spa Industry Education (FPSIE)
• Starting January 1, 2020, must have completed CAEI training through FPSIE within the last two calendar years
• Must have an active license with the Contractors State License Board (CSLB)

To be able to offer our customers a SMUD instant rebate on an ENERGY STAR certified variable-speed pool pump, contractors must be certified through FPSIE by completing the CAEI training course.
