What pool owners can do about the drought

The drought is obviously of huge concern for us Californian’s.
Most people are unaware that pools use half as much water as the lawn and even less if evaporation measures are taken: http://www.latimes.com/local/la-me-pool-haters-20140913-story.html
How you can help:
– Turn off water features like waterfalls and spillways.
The more water exposed to the atmosphere, the more evaporation.
– Point eyeball type pool returns down (not the traditional method of up which disturbs the water).
More turbulence on water surface = more evaporation.
– Use a solar blanket or solar rings.
Here’s a video I made on homemade rings:
Here’s a video of one of my customers made for his solar rings:
Remember to take the blanket off once a week so the pool can breathe/ gas off!
If you leave the blanket on for long periods of time the pool will turn green. This isn’t true with solar rings as the pool gases off between the rings.
