Plastic pool steps are located on the pool wall under the handrails, typically in the deep end of a gunite swimming pool. The steps provide a foothold while the rail allows bathers to safely pull themselves out of the pool.
Broken and cracked plastic steps (cycolac steps) in a swimming pool result in jagged edges and are an injury hazard for bathers.
Plastic steps will crack and break if left hollow and not completely filled with plaster/ cement at installation. Broken steps are a common underwater pool repair that we will cut the cracked step out of the wall and replace them with new ones without draining the pool. Your guests may resume swimming the following day.
